“Azadeh continues to blur the boundaries of design with her exquisitely crafted maximalist furnishings and accessories which reflect an artist's approach to design."
Azadeh Shladovsky is a Los Angeles-based artist and designer. In her multi-disciplinary practice, Azadeh materializes her study of visual consciousness through art, sculpture, design and interior architecture. Her work challenges notions of perception while pushing the boundaries of spatial and material juxtaposition. In cultivating a deeper perceptual awareness, Shladovsky draws attention to how we engage our senses and inspires new ways to interpret the world around us.
After her first gallery show in 2011, Azadeh started making her functional art available in limited production, editions and commissions. A cornerstone of Azadeh’s practice is a commitment to LA’s highly skilled artisan community that she considers family. Each piece is handmade to order using sustainable materials that breathe life into a conceptual vocabulary of visual consciousness. Not only do her pieces serve to inspire and cultivate a deeper perceptual awareness, creating them is a deliberate act of re-focusing our senses on the value of the handmade.
