OUR TAKE

Founded in January 2020 by Niki Bergen and Andrew Zuckerman, SUPERFLOWER is a design studio that creates patterns from precise photographic investigations of the natural world. With an almost futuristic resolution and clarity, the patterns are poetic interpretations exploring the nexus of technology and nature. The inaugural wallpaper collection Florescence, was inspired both by Edo period Ikebana and 19th century Victorian patterns. The studio is driven to explore this rich history to fashion new forms for the future, seeking a median space that is not completely pure and not too manufactured.

The collection consists of 9 patterns available in 9 color ways.  The unique chromatic range is drawn directly from primary natural sources.  All of the pattern designs begin with photographs of live flowers, which are then composited into what we call Superflowers. These arrangements are explorations of fantastical floral forms presented in hyperreal clarity. Layering and juxtaposing the papers creates surprising harmony that activates space as one moves through it.
