OUR TAKE

“Best known for her lighting that literally and figuratively balance materiality and form, Farrah's accessories are equally elegant and evocative.”

NEED TO KNOW

  • Farrah describes her explorations as “the form not-yet-achieved” which she realizes with artisans and design manufacturers across the U.S.
  • if you peer up from Union Square Park you can catch a glimpse of recent commission for a private residence designed by Ike Kligerman Barkley featuring 45 feet of sinuous neon dripping from hand-carved marble canopies
  • coming in 2021 is a capsule lighting collection for TRNK

Farrah Sit designs evocative lighting, furniture, and sculptural objects for residential, commercial and hospitality settings. Her work surfaces beauty from wells of material tension, eliciting the moment a breath is lost to anticipation, an icicle is poised to plummet, a band to snap, a wave to crash,an echo to fade. Quiet yet indulgent, her aesthetic draws inspiration from the expansiveness of the natural world. An innate, exacting attention to detail and focus on conscious living inspire her calming, formally beautiful designs.Farrah’s collection expresses a process of material reduction, uniting spareness with the inherent grace of organic elements. Each work of functional art represents a contemplation on essentiality, at once energetic and peaceful.
