- Monstruosus takes its name from a genetically deformed species of cactus
- “I realized the planter was an object that had been sort of left behind, and decided it was time to reincorporate it into the design conversation—and let it tell some stories of its own.” says founder Sam Bigio
- a Herman Miller alumnus, Sam was inspired by the pottery he saw in photographs of California’s Case Study Houses
We are Monstruosus; we craft simple, purposeful, indoor and outdoor slip-cast clay planters. Our designs honor a strong lineage of ceramic craftsmanship with timeless proportions of the world’s best architecture.
